organic building of images, through an
intense colorist palette, creates vibrating
rhythms of jeweled toned paint in an almost
free form painting effect. This conceptual
painting style emulates painting on a
cellular level and creates a unique soul to
her work. She chooses oil paint for its
fluid properties while choosing authentic
vivid colors. Occasionally working in
pastels also allows for textural work in
vivid colors. Her love of nature and
botanicals, in all seasons is depicted
throughout this unique style.
Appreciation of art and music was always a
part of Marie’s Italian family upbringing.
Frequent visits to the New York City art
museums were weekend adventures and enhanced
by studies in Art History. This began her
life long journey of art appreciation. It’s
only natural, with her many years of study
in art history that she enjoys painting
people experiencing life.
living in Florida, Marie joined “Friends of
The Museum of Art”, Fort Lauderdale which
further saturated her art exposure. She and
her husband, Bob, retired to Hobe Sound in
2003. She now has the time to truly indulge
herself in creating art. Marie studied
pastels under Helen Terry for several years
and then began studies in oil in 2007, which
has continued to the present day under
prominent artist Kelly Arnold.
