Marie Ferrandino

About Me

Marie’s organic building of images, through an intense colorist palette, creates vibrating rhythms of jeweled toned paint in an almost free form painting effect. This conceptual painting style emulates painting on a cellular level and creates a unique soul to her work. She chooses oil paint for its fluid properties while choosing authentic vivid colors. Occasionally working in pastels also allows for textural work in vivid colors. Her love of nature and botanicals, in all seasons is depicted throughout this unique style.

Appreciation of art and music was always a part of Marie’s Italian family upbringing.  Frequent visits to the New York City art museums were weekend adventures and enhanced by studies in Art History.  This began her life long journey of art appreciation. It’s only natural, with her many years of study in art history that she enjoys painting people experiencing life.

While living in Florida, Marie joined “Friends of The Museum of Art”, Fort Lauderdale which further saturated her art exposure.  She and her husband, Bob, retired to Hobe Sound in 2003.  She now has the time to truly indulge herself in creating art. Marie studied pastels under Helen Terry for several years and then began studies in oil in 2007, which has continued to the present day under prominent artist Kelly Arnold.
